Some Madness, and Badness… Combination



Have you had that moment when your taste buds have a mind of its own and you end up craving a combo of foods that make zero sense? Yeah, I’ve been there. Who would have thought that the tangy sweetness of mashed-up kiwi and the crunchy, cream-filled Oreos in a cup of ice could make me drool? Trust me, it hit the spot.


Some days, you’re craving odd, inexplicable food pairings that somehow make sense. It’s strange at first but it's worth a try!


  1. Peanut butter + Pickles

Everyone loves a good sweet and savory snack. Among endless combinations of sweet and savory foods, have you ever heard of pickles and peanut butter? The creaminess of the peanut butter and the sour crunchy pickle oddly satisfies your taste buds. This PB&P combination can be enjoyed on its own but it can also be a part of your sandwich or burger. It is a great low-calorie snack packed with protein and healthy fats! Maybe it can become a pre-workout for some gym buddies out there.


  1. Chocolate chip cookie + Orange Juice

A classic chocolate chip cookie dunked in a cold glass of milk is next-level. But how about elevating the classic dessert by enjoying a chocolate chip cookie with a glass of orange juice? According to U.S. Magazine, Giada De Laurentiis, a famous Italian-American celebrity chef, told Delish that this sweet and sour combination is one of her favorites. The sourness of the orange juice cuts through the overwhelming sweetness of the cookies, allowing you to consume way more! Plus, the refreshing taste of the orange juice adds a nice balance to the flavors. Give it a try and see if you like it as much as Giada and I do! My personal rating is a solid 8 out of 10.

Watermelon and feta may seem like an unusual pairing at first, but trust me on this one - it's a snack that you won't be able to get enough of. The saltiness of the Greek cheese is perfectly balanced by the sweet, cooling taste of watermelon, making it light and easy to enjoy for the summer. If you want an upgrade, try sprinkling it with some fresh mint; it's the perfect touch when you feel the need to be refreshed. I’ll be counting down the days until next summer so I can chef this up!

A classic American favorite paired with the perfect autumn snack. The warm, savory, grilled cheese dipped in the touch of sweetness is enough to make everyone’s mouth water. This soft apple puree is the perfect way to offset the saltiness that makes your mouth crave a drink. Wouldn’t this be perfect for autumn?

Who hasn’t tried the classic fries and ice cream combo? Fully indulge in this delightful treat by using your fries as a spoon to savor the creamy goodness of the ice cream. A Wendy’s Frosty or Oreo McFlurry has been a classic dip. The crispy, salty flavor of the fries and the sweetness of the ice cream is a match made in heaven. No wonder this combination is loved by so many.


You might be overwhelmed by these odd pairings but don’t hesitate to try these snacks whenever you’re craving something inexplicable. After all, these food combinations have some madness and badness in them.
